ADAMSVILLE, Primoria – At a session of the Quorum of the Grand Unified Micronational this evening, Arthur Lobao, Emperor of the Wurtige Empire, was nominated as Vice-Chair by the organisation’s new Chairman, Bradley of Dullahan from Wyvern, and promptly approved by the assembled delegates. Emperor Arthur has therefore succeeded our own Emperor Adam as the Vice-Chair of the GUM. Emperor Adam served as the GUM Vice-Chair from the 15th of December 2013 to the 13th of March 2014 as King Ciprian’s Vice. The term ended on the 13th and the office was vacant for three days until Lobao’s appointment earlier tonight. Also terminating on the 13th was Emperor Adam’s term as the Secretary of the GUM Advancement Council. Under the new GUM Charter adopted under Ciprian and Adam’s term, the GUM Advancement Council no longer exists, meaning that the Council is now abolished and Adam is the last ever AC Secretary. The offices of Vice-Chair and AC Secretary were the first intermicronational offices that an Adammic official has ever held. These are also the first political offices of any type that Emperor Adam has ever lost. His Imperial Majesty’s term as Councilor of Primoria ends in July.
Now for some other news from around the Empire: last week, the local government of Primoria passed its second ever Edict, which renamed some locations around the Empire’s oldest territory. There is now an Adamsville Imperial Observatory, formed from the conservatory of the Imperial Household. Furthermore, an area of the Jebediah Hills has been granted to the Ministry of Defence and is now out of bounds. It is unknown why this area has been granted or what it will be used for.
Last week, we reported how the planning committee for the Foundation Day celebrations would be discussing with the local government of Myway the location of the planned party. We can now reveal that HG Christopher Hall, Duke of Myway, has informed the Office of the Emperor that he is happy for the celebrations to take place anywhere, and as a result, it is most likely that they will take place in Tytannia, at the Empire’s capital, Imperial City. The only thing that is yet unknown is the date. It is believed that some sacrifices would have to be made for the celebrations to take place on the actual Foundation Day on the 13th, so they may instead be held on the 12th. The committee is yet to make a final decision but it should have one by the end of next week. In the same communication, Duke Christopher also told the Emperor that he is searching for a flagpole to mount in Myway and fly the Adammic flag from. This is an unusally independant move from the government in Primoria and Tytannia, and has been applauded by the Emperor.
That is all for this week. Seek wisdom and honour, and long live the Empire!
