ADAMSVILLE, Primoria – The Adammic Express has learned that Her Grace Madam Winifred Hall, the Emperor’s grandmother, passed away this morning, a month shy of 71 years old, following a two-week battle with liver cancer. She was Adammia’s second-oldest citizen, the Duchess of Tytannia, Countess of Sapientia and Minister of the Environment.
Condolences have poured in from across the Empire and elsewhere for the Emperor, the Imperial Family and the rest of the House of Hall. This is the first time on record that any Adammic citizen has died. This evening, the Office of the Emperor issued Decree XXXIX, declaring that the next three days will be days of national mourning, during which all non-essential government functions will be suspended. Any Adammic flags will be lowered to half-mast and military units have been asked to fire a nineteen-gun salute whenever convenient.
Lord Sir David Hall has been appointed Duke of Tytannia, which will make him a member of the Ruling Council. Emperor Mother Jayne has inherited the title of Countess of Sapientia. The office of Minister of the Environment will likely remain vacant until the next Ruling Council meeting, whenever that may be. With the news coming just two days before Foundation Day, this has killed off any government plans to mark the occasion. The Emperor may release a Foundation Day address, but that will be all. It is currently unknown when Madam Winifred’s funeral will take place.
The Office of the Emperor would like to thank everybody for their support during this difficult time for the Imperial Family. Seek wisdom and honour, and long live the Empire.
RIP Winifred Hall 1945 – 2016
